Appearances: HTLJ — S1: The Festival of Dionysus
Bio: Not to be confused with King Iphicles of Corinth and brother of Hercules, King Iphicles of Meliad ruled for over 25 years, abolishing slavery, eliminating hunger among his people, and putting an end to war within his kingdom. Because of the good he'd done, he'd become a much-beloved king, so much so that the god Dionysus chose every year to spare his life during the annual Festival of Dionysus. One year, however, his queen, Camilla, had started having nightmares that the virgins that had partaken in the festival's wine would kill him in his sleep. So, she'd sent for the half-god Hercules to help keep her husband safe. Hercules, for his part, had an uncovered a plot involving Herc's half-brother Ares contaminating the wine used for the festival and compelling the virgins to kill Iphicles so that his eldest son Pentheus could become king.
