Bio: Not to be confused with the princess of Troy, Deianeira was the first wife of the demigod Hercules. They'd met after Hera, queen of the Greek gods and Herc's stepmother, had stolen the Eternal Torch and with it, humanity's access to fire. They'd set out together on a quest to steal it back, with Herc nearly sacrificing himself in order to restore fire to the world (Hercules and the Circle of Fire). Having fallen in love on their adventure, Herc and Deianeira had eventually married, producing three children, Aeson, Klonus, and Ilea. However, just as Herc had started to settle into life as a husband and father, a beautiful young woman named Iole had come to Hercules for help after people had begun to disappear into the Underworld. Herc had set out with Iole and a Centaur blacksmith named Nessus, but when Deianeira had learned Iole was a Neurian maiden, ladies whose powers made them irresistible to mortal men, she'd quickly caught up with Herc to warn him.
